how to write a

Summary writing is an important writing skill. As you rise up into higher grade levels you will have to do it a lot. It's a great way to really learn what is in a text, because to write a good summary you must understand the text well enough to:
  1. know what the most important ideas are (which ideas to include and which to leave out of your summary)
  2. write the ideas in your own words (change the words and sentence structure)
The PDF presentation that follows will guide you to write a great presentation of the piece we read last week, 'Elephant', by Robert Bateman.
